Snow, bloody Snow!!!

I wish the frickin snow would piss off!! I am going to see Lady Gaga at the O2 in London on Friday and I will actually cry if it hinders my night!! Grrrrr, or rather Brrrrrrr!

So this weekend saw me on a fashion shoot with my beautiful, lovely friends (I feel slightly bad for putting them through it! It was FREEZING but I hardly heard a peep from them! Thanks girls!!). Our toes nearly froze off, our shoes covered in mud and we even had an audience from a roof top but all in all was a success!
Afterwards we proceeded to drink copious amounts of Vino and Vodka and dance the night away! A great weekend to be had by all!

Last night I decided to watch Kids... for those of you who haven't seen it, (I recommend you do but have something happy and pretty on standby to watch after!!) it's a dark and unforgiving (Larry Clark) 90's film set in NYC about a skater boy (a very ugly, gangly boy, not the sort of person you would want to watch having sex etc!) who has HIV and goes around de-flowering young girls (and, in turn giving them HIV!)! It stars the ever so cool Chloe Sevigny and is worth watching for that reason alone!





A great film but it is one of those that you appreciate more the morning after!
I watched it years ago when I was a kid myself, it didn't have the same effect on me back then. This time it just reminded me of my own childhood debauchery (minus the HIV of course!!) and made me feel surprisingly grateful that I am no longer a kid!! It makes you think though...

The fashion world is in mourning as it loses one of its greatest, most outrageous and not to forget British, creative geniuses!


Taking his own life aged 40, following the death of his mother just days ago, it is to be believed he hanged/hung himself.

When I heard the news (bored at work yesterday I received a text from my fashionista friend informing me) I felt sick. Not least because he is one of my favourite designers, along with Viv Westwood (it is all about the British), but because of the way he died. It is just so sad! Yes, his mother had just died and 3 years previous his good friend Isabella Blow (who discovered him) took her own life (she drank Weed killer!!), which apparently caused him to suffer from depression but he had everything going for him... not to mention his unveiling of his new collection at Paris Fashion week in a month (how much will that be worth now eh??!). However, saying this, anybody who has suffered with any form of depression will know that it doesn't matter how much fame, money or love you have, sometimes enough is enough!

There is something about the creative mind.

Anyway, today I am celebrating all things Alexander McQueen by wearing a lovely black and white, check, ruffle shirt of his (well not his, you not what I mean!). I am also thinking I will finally get the Skull and Cross bone tattoo I have been toying with for years (it has always taken a back seat to all things girly i.e. Butterflies and Roses!). This could be the perfect time to get it and forever I shall remember the man who not only inspires me but also my lady of the moment, la Gaga!! Check out the Bad Romance vid... I watched it about 1000 times when it was released!!

I have had an epiphany...

I have discovered that drinking caffeine produces creativity (as well creating excitability, anxiety and making my heart feel like it may jump out at any given moment)!! So, does One sacrifice sleep for creativity?! When I am high on coffee/Green tea the answer is yes... when I am lying a wake at 4 in the morning going insane, the answer is no!!

God my day job is dull... I want to go home and finish reading the March issue of Vogue!

I shall add some glamour to the day by eating Smoked Salmon and Cream cheese for my lunch!

Do not despair...

Do not fear! I am still very much alive! I have just had a hectic couple of weeks!

One dark night last week I ventured out into the world (to The Well, formerly known as Josephs Well in Leeds), to photograph and review Rolo Tomassi for Repeat Fanzine. A young math/spazzcore band, 'a what?' i hear you ask! A young, crazy, demented band basically! I do not think I have experienced such an intense gig! Apart from maybe when I saw the Libertines, post Pete :( at Leeds fest when I was high on pills! Kids, do not take drugs! They are bad! )!!
As I had a photo pass I was right at the front (actually there was no pit so I didn't really need one), so I was basically in the centre of the mosh pit! I was thrown and pushed around by 6ft men (well boys) and kicked in the head by crowd surfers! Despite all of this, and the massive painful bruises i received, I absolutely loved it!!
I shall upload the pics later and a link to the review (if it gets put on the site, it may be a pile of shit, my review that is!!).

Anyway... dinner is calling! Cottage cheese, salad and Sardines (whilst everyone else in the office eats Chinese!)! Mmmm yum (really, really NOT!)!

They call me Mellow Yellow...

So it seems Yellow is to have it's moment this S/S! At first I shuddered, the immediate thought of trying to stylishly clash Yellow with my Blonde hair made me want to run for cover (into the safety of my Black Bodycon!!).
I then remembered I had purchased a lovely (more of a pastel) Yellow Tshirt from a pop up vintage shop just down the road (Imagine my joy as my boyfriend arrived back from the shop, not only with breakfast but with the news of a vintage shop 200 meters from my flat!!), so after said breakfast I popped down. Not only did I buy the tee but also a beautiful Polka dot umbrella! It hasn't rained since I bought it! Typical!!

I then remembered I already owned a Yellow and Black Polka dot tee, which I bought in a Leeds vintage shop the other year! I think I will wear this with skin tight, high waisted, dark blue jeans tomorrow night! With heels! I have made it my new years resolution to wear more heels! And more Lipstick (as opposed to just heavy black eye make up and DM's!)!

I REALLY love this cute, 60's-esque yet very modern mini!! Its by Holly Fulton and is apparently inspired by the Manhattan Skyline... ahhh, I love it even more!

Unfortunately I am not yet rich and cannot therefore purchase such a beautiful dress!! However, I will be purchasing a pair of Yellow Wayfarers!! Hopefully these beauties...

But if my purse will not stretch that far I shall just head down to Primark as they will no doubt have copies for 2 quid!! Oooh, I am very excited at the prospect of sunglasses shopping!!

Teaches of Peaches...

I was watching Loose Women yesterday (I am currently out of work, until Monday when I start yet another temp job whilst waiting to become rich/famous/both), Peaches Geldolf was one of their guests. I cant decide what I think of her, she acts like a stuck up dick yet I am still slightly fascinated by her (or maybe I just really want her life! Minus the overdoses and failed marriage!).

I watched a very interesting documentary, if you can call it that, where Ferne Cotton (who I actually really like!) met her in NYC. Peaches was just intentionally awkward and even admitted she likes awkwardness... hmm, attention seeker perhaps?!

Anyway this post is not to tell you what you already know but to share with you how much I loved her look! Her hair was long, flowing and Strawberry Blonde and accessorised with a bright Red headband with a bow (Bowband?) and matching lipstick!! It looked great against her pale skin!! This look clearly stuck with me as last night I actually dreamt about her wearing the exact same look!! Weird! I should also mention that in my dream she flirted with my boyfriend when I was sat right there! How rude!! I woke up this morning pissed off with my man! Ha!

I cannot find a picture of said look unfortunately! :( So here is one of her sporting a Slutty/Grungey look that I actually really like!!

Anyway, I have decided I want to dye my Blonde hair Strawberry Blonde / Orangey Red?! But I dare not as I cannot afford to go back blonde when I get bored (probably a day after knowing me!). So instead I am going to dye part of my fringe or something with a semi perm dye!

I shall let you know how that goes!!

The perfect excuse...

I found a very interesting article yesterday, followed by another one today... Apparently pretty women 'anger more easily'!! I found this information very useful as I often find myself unable to control my anger and now have the perfect excuse!! Ha!! Its not just me... I have friends who are very pretty who also have a short temper!! NB I am not saying I find myself 'very pretty', just that I can use this evidence in my favour!! Read the article for yourself...

So all in all, Pretty Blonde's are getting a bit of hammering (or not, if aggression and anger are to be considered an attractive quality?! Hmm, perhaps not to the poor man on the receiving end because lets face it, it is the boyfriends who suffer the most!). On the other hand, the people making these scientific discoveries could be fat, ugly, balding women!!! Harsh but perhaps true?!

I wonder what Debbie Harry would make of all this...

Bonsoir!!

I am back! After minimal blog activity due to me celebrating my 26th birthday!! I feel I should be mature and sophisticated now, I did try this out on Friday eve... Accompanied by my (lovely/poor) boyfriend, I went to the theatre to see an English woman sing french songs whilst an English man played piano!! It was nice (nice is as good as it gets!) but about 10 minutes in I started to get fidgety and bored! As soon as it finished we rushed to the nearest bar and proceeded to get pissed!! Followed by Champagne, mmmm Champagne!! I then ate a whole Sea bass! It scared me slightly when it arrived as I was not expecting to have to look into its eyes whilst I devoured it's tasty meat!!

Anyway, back to the sophistication I should be exuding... it disappeared after half a bottle of Champers and is yet to return!!

Right, I am now going to read the latest Elle that I bought today, watch Coco before Chanel and enjoy a cold glass of vino (I am not working this week so I am allowed!) !

Oh and P.S... I dropped my IPhone in the gym today and the screen has completely smashed!! Serves me right for emailing whilst working out!!!

Ugg Boots and Jimmy Choo to collaborate!!?

I read about this disturbing news in the Guardian... now I am not a massive Jimmy Choo fan (give me a edgy ankle boot any day!!) but the Ugg boot just makes me want to vomit (especially when teamed with Sweatpants... you know who you are!)!! Surely this must be fashion suicide for the Choo?!!

Bonjour Mes Amis!! Welcome to my blog that will be predominantly Fashion orientated but with other relevant bits and pieces thrown in (i.e. photography, music, art etc etc)!!
It has taken me a while to get this blog up and running, as I have been battling with the idea that blogs are often nothing but self indulgent, pretentious waffle! However, I have now come to the conclusion that, well, a little pretence never harmed anybody!! Plus I was encouraged by my friend who has a great and unpretentious blog... i will provide a link to it later, which gave me hope!!


Anyway here I go... indulging in the fantasy that people will actually give a fuck about my life/blog/blah blah!! Enjoy!
